Day 19

21 March 2009, Saturday

Let me be the teacher for the time being. Hahaha. According to what I've learnt from Sally, I have a better understanding about China's business etiquette. Anyway, you can also read the slides (pictures I've taken ^^) and get to know more! :P Really helpful when you are in China. ^^

A small start for you... 'Qian Li Song E Mao, Li Qing Qing Yi Zhong'

Dinning!

Gift Giving Etiquette!
Regarding why four is unlucky is because in Chinese it sounds like 'Si' (死) which means death.

Gifts!
The last point is occured when we presented a gift (merlion souvenir) to Sally! She seem delighted when receiving it. :P

Rules for Drinking
'Gan Bei' (干杯) means bottoms up. So better beware if you can't hold your liquor. Hahaha. :P

Safe Topics!

Table Manners!

The Bill!
My group of friends have already encountered this situation whereby the local students insist on treating us the dinner. Thus we decided to treat them back. Well, they chose Macdonald so we have no choice but to give in to them. I find this interesting because this is the first time I see people fight for the bill. LOL :P

The meaning of Mian Zi (Face)!

To Address Chinese!
Never call 'Xiao Jie' (小姐) when you want to ask a lady something because they will feel offended. 'Xiao Jie' in China means prostitute. ^^

While Eating!
I like this rules. Hahaha. XD

Hope that you've enjoyed the post and pardon for the brief explanation. Anyway, the information is really helpful. Oh! To all ladies out there, in China if someone call you 'Mei Nu' (美女), please don't think he/she is praising you. Basically, they call all ladies 'Mei Nu' if they don't know their name. Hahaha. XD
Still got four more hours to 7am, I think I shall find something else to do. Bye~~~
Stay Tune For More! ^^
